When you ask your child what they did in school today and they say, "Nothing"... check here to start a discussion by seeing what we did in science or social studies class.  I will post a brief description of our work and your child can fill in the rest.

"You're mad, bonkers, completely off your head. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are."

I am not sure why this is not more well known, but Martin Luther King Jr. came and spoke in Montclair.  The picture below shows him walking to the Union Baptist Church on September 11, 1966.  He spoke during the service at the church and later went to speak to 3,000 people in the high school auditorium and gym.  There is a plaque (pictured below) in the high school band room were he waited before going on stage.

Monday
October 30th

Don't forget that Wednesday (10/25) and Thursday (10/26) are early dismissals at 1:40.
The middle schools and high school has parent/teacher conference these days, but the elementary schools do not.  Please don't ask me why; that is above my pay grade.  Our conferences will be on December 6th and 7th.

On Thursday, October 19th, went to the Iris Gardens to design and paint pumpkins.  The railroad crossing being under construction on Mt. Hebron had been completed, so our walk was not too far.  The three classes were allowed to mix and the kids walked with anyone they wanted to hang around with.  It is a small step in preparing for next year... middle school!

Check out the Montclair Patch for more info about the events taking place that night at the park... click here.
