Is it true what you heard?

The bad news... Mr. De Bello has taken another position in the district.  This decision was made with a very heavy heart and he will miss his Bradford family tremendously.

The good news... Mr. Liddy will the new 5th grade Science and Social Studies at Bradford.  This is great for all the students that enjoyed learning with me last year.  This is also great if there were any who didn't, because this is opportunity for us to make adjustments and have a super year (not that I think anyone felt this way - HaHa).

I am looking forward to seeing all of you next week.  Rest up... we have plenty learning, thinking and understanding ahead of us.

Thank you parents and students for the toast.  Mrs. Bangs, Ms. Hall and myself are truly grateful for the event and we had a great time.  It has been our pleasure to work with your children this year. We know that they will have a great summer and 5th grade will be awesome!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Ms. Barina, the student teacher that has been with us in the 4th grade for almost this whole year, will be leaving on Friday, 5/15.  She has done a wonderful job and will be looking to start her teaching career next year in Austin, TX.  She actually has her road trip scheduled next week to drive down with all things and begin her life down in Texas.  The students have enjoyed working with her teaching lessons, running a Book Chat group, working with small groups and even one on one to help a student struggling with a new concept being taught.  She will be missed by all the 4th grade (students and teachers).  Good luck in Texas!!!
I think I speak for all the teachers about how great this Teacher Appreciation Week has been.  It is nice to have the students and parents show us their appreciation with thoughtful gifts, a wonderful breakfast, flowers, kind words written on the appreciation boards, children dressing in our favorite colors, thank you notes and a delicious lunch.  It has been great!  But here is the neat thing I found out about these kids, they actually do a real good job of expressing their appreciation all the time.  Good work on raising your child... now back to work!

It's Official.... Mr. Liddy will be back the first week of March!

I will be filling in for Ms. Freeh while she is out on leave.  What could be better than returning to Bradford... being able to work with the 4th grader again.  I have been working with Ms. Freeh to make sure that I am ready to pick up where she left off.  We have been working to make sure the transition is as seamless possible.  I will be following the Montclair Public School ELA Curriculum and keep as many of Ms. Freeh's procedures in place... spelling, homework, book chat...

I think most parents already know, but just in case... I am always available to answer questions or discuss your child.  Feel free to email, call or stop me when you see me.  I have kids, so I understand that information is vital.  Once I start, I will post homework, calendars and information on what we are doing in class.

That's all folks!!!

To the students, faculty, administration and parents... THANK YOU!!!  It has truly been my pleasure to have worked with all of you.  It has been a lot of work at home and school, but I couldn't wait to come to class everyday.  Sunday nights were never a drag.  They were filled with excitement about all the work we would get to do that week.

I tried my best to challenge the students and get them to think and question.  The best part of this whole experience was watching them rise to the challenge.  I think this sums up my experience... "Give the students a challenge and they will exceed your expectations".

Happy Holidays and I hope you all have a great 2015 school year!  Thanks again.
